Brookfield Properties enlisted It-makes to work collaboratively and employ ‘out of the box’ project delivery approaches to design, permit, and construct over 200 individual retail and office spaces within a total project duration of only 8 months.
CMC, fondly known as ‘CalMart’, was originally built in 1962 to house the first wholesale fashion marketplace on the West Coast. After over 50 years of use and changes to the programmatic needs of the fashion industry, the building is undergoing a renovation to address the needs of modern creative professionals. Located in the fashion district in DTLA It-makes designing & construction a mix of retail showrooms & office spaces specific to the needs of each tenant.
